New Panel at PanIIT: Social Networks for Disruptive Innovation

PanIIT_2009I’m excited to announce that I’ll be leading a panel at the PanIIT global conference on October 9, 2009 in Chicago, where we’ll discuss how enterprise visionaries are using social networks to innovate in their business processes.  We will be speaking alongside such global luminaries as President Bill Clinton, Caterpillar CEO James W. Owens and Obama Administration CTO Aneesh Chopra.  Here is a description of our session:

Using Social Networking for Disruptive Innovation

Social networking is one of the hottest buzzwords of 2009, but how does it really apply to the enterprise and executives?  This panel will demystify social networking and word of mouth and give concrete guidance for using LinkedIn, Facebook Twitter and others to increase competitiveness, from firm and individual perspectives.

In 2009, the adoption of social networking and Web 2.0 is where “the Internet” was in 1998.  Successes by Dell, jetBlue, Zoombweebee’s, Comcast, Mayo Clinic, Wells Fargo, Starbucks and others have begun to validate many of the principles of global peer-to-peer collaboration, but the burning platform for the general market has yet to emerge.  As a leader, you still have a short window of opportunity to move ahead of your competitors, and this session will provide a rationale and tactics for action.

Please read the update here: panelists from Alcatel-Lucent, Allstate and Experian

Two social networking consultants (Clara Shih and I) and two enterprise executives will share their vision and concrete examples enterprise and executive use of social networks. Learn emerging business cases for using LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and others to reduce costs and drive the top line. Some of the use cases include: increasing sales and marketing, reducing talent acquisition costs, quickening product development and innovation and public relations 2.0.

Hope to See You There

Non IIT Alums are invited as well! Please see the Conference website.
